The Wild Artist's Garden
Cultivating Creativity and Feeding Community with Homegrown Food.
As I pulled out the dead tomato vines from my garden last year, I wondered if I could utilize them for making paper instead of simply tossing them in the compost heap. That simple thought has grown into a larger idea – can I grow plants to feed my family AND community, and then use what is considered agricultural waste as fibers for papermaking? I will be exploring this idea through The Wild Artist's Garden - an experiment in planning and growing food that will double as fiber for papermaking at the end of the growing season, and sharing any surplus food that my family can't eat with the community.
